Huzzah!

The Littlest Elle website is now free of Livejournal and good to launch into its bright new future as its own domain! (See how short and memorable it is? elle.mysky.net . Bam.)

There are various reasons why I made the move, but it’s been long in coming. I have a bit of a learning curve ahead of me (oh my god, I have to learn CSS now? No! No fair! I refuse!) so some things may tweak over the next few weeks, but. We will see.

Archives are all transferred. Need to tweak some of the links within each post and reorganize the image folder, but… the content is here. And the content will continue to update here. And I can already see bright things.

So, enjoy! If you catch any bugs, please leave a comment or an e-mail and I’ll get right on that.

a whole new world of subject matter

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Last week I finally adopted myself a little cat. None of my research could possibly prepare me for how much she would CONSUME MY LIFE already but that’s all part of the fun. You will, um, I suspect you will be hearing a lot about her. Sorry. The trials of autobiography is that you’re subject to whatever I’m wrapped up in at the moment (at least it’ll help me stagger the “GRR RETAIL” strips this holiday season?)

I think I’ve been drawing journal comics too long. When I was picking out my cat, in the back of my mind I couldn’t help thinking “she’s going to be tough to draw in my style, maybe I should adopt the fluffy one instead.”

Tip Jar Activated!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Littlest Elle has a new feature, namely: the tip jar. The tip jar enables y’all visitors, people who presumably enjoy my comics, to donate $2 (or more) towards my website hosting bill (so don’t be alarmed when the payment goes to dreamhost.com, it’s supposed to do that. They notify me of the transaction once it’s complete ^^). Nothing will happen if you don’t donate, I’m not in danger of losing the site, I just figure I’d toss it up there and if I’m doing a good job and you feel generous, it’s a way you can show appreciation.

As incentive for donations, however, anyone who donates can request subject-matter for a bonus Wednesday Elle strip. Anything you want. I won’t break the rules of the comic (autobiographical stories and something I could show my parents without blushing), but I will do my damndest to incorporate your request in some way. Bunnies? Done. Unicorns? I think I have stories about stuffed unicorns. Keanu Reeves? Um. That one will take a minute, but I’m sure I can come up with something.

And if you don’t have a request… well, I’ll still post an extra strip that week because of your donation, it just won’t be specially themed. If I’m already planning to post a Wednesday strip that week because of my own storyline, I will post TWO. Just for you. For $2. Can’t beat that bargain.

Donate towards my web hosting bill, request a bonus Wednesday Strip!

Watch this space

There’s a meme floating around livejournal where you need to post a happy thought each day in your journal for something like 8 solid days. I decided I’d give it a try, so I drew 8 or 9 days of “something good that happened to me today” comics based on the first week of December.

I’ll be posting them starting Monday and leading up to Christmas, alongside the usual Monday-Friday strips. It’s no epic holiday special, but I couldn’t think of a better time of year to post a string of happy thoughts.

So, watch this space! Happiness is a comin’!

(Also, in case you missed it, yesterday’s post introduced the tip jar… which I will be adding to the sidebar shortly)

chance to win art from me!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

EDIT: The contest has now ended. Thanks everyone who entered and supported Rusty’s cause!

As mentioned previously, a friend of mine is fund-raising for her roomate’s dog. She’s been hosting giveaways for a week and starting today, the giveaway to win art from me went live on her website.

If you go to her site, you can enter to win a free one page comic or drawing by yours truly. Given how rarely I open commissions, that’s a pretty golden opportunity for custom art by me. Want a pin-up of your original character? A guest strip for your webcomic? A wacky comic illustration of a story from your blog? Batman/Superman slash?

The link is open until Friday WEDNESDAY, the 4th. I’d love it if one of my readers won, so check it out :D

small delay with Monday’s Elle strip

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Monday’s strip will be posted in the evening. Not a huge delay, but just a head’s up. I thought I could be ready before work in the morning but alas!

Hang tight, though, the delay will be all worth it. Also, happy Hourly Comic Day everyone!

extra strip this week!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

First off, thanks for the support re: last week’s bizzarre subway incident. No major injury occured (my tendonitis got agitated, that’s fairly minor), but the advice and the sympathy is appreciated.

Second, we have a donation this week! So be sure to check back on Wednesday for a bonus strip about my exploits with Scribble-the-cat!

I can’t believe it’s already March. This year is going fast!

Upcoming Event! (well, June)

Monday, March 16th, 2009

It’s official on their website, so it can now be official on my website: I will be attending the Charles M. Schulz museum in Santa Rosa as a cartoonist-in-residence on Saturday, June 13th.

I’m such a little tiny guppy in this field (heck, even in the field of online diary comics I’m still a total newbie) so it’s a great honor to be invited. This is my first time doing this sort of thing so I’m super nervous! Wish me luck! And hey, if you’re local, swing on by! :D

falling links, etc

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Tweaked the layout a little to make it more cohesive with my new titlebar! Eventually I want make a proper archives and tag listing page, but that’ll wait until my next batch of procrastination time. (Yes, I am planning to make the lists in the sidebar more legible. Honest. I’m just CSS deficient.)

Should have some news to post soon. Watch this space!
