Littlest Elle #52: Apartment Hunting

The studio did have a rotating wall into the bathroom. That is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in 1920’s architecture. Granted, this meant the studio couldn’t contain any furnishings other than a twin bed (rotating walls = best left to mansions, or at least 2 room apartments) but… so rad.

Then you walk into the kitchen and you realize, oh, the oven can’t open and there’s nowhere you can put anything electric without stringing the cords behind the sink basin and electrocuting yourself.

Then you start to think, hey, maybe the studio should have bolt locks on it if the front door to the building doesn’t operate on a buzzer/key system.

And that’s when I looked at the price to rent a one-bed-no-room-no-kitchen-no-locks-on-the-doors apartment in the boonies of San Francisco and died, a little, inside.
